We advocate for policies that help women prevent ovarian cancer and access treatment.

Policy Positions

Access to Affordable, Quality Health Care
The Alliance believes that health insurance must be available and affordable to everyone. We advocate for policies that advance this goal.

Ovarian Cancer Research and Education Programs
The Alliance advocates for robust federal funding of programs that fund ovarian cancer research, awareness, and education programs across the federal government.

Access to Oral Contraceptives
The Alliance believes all women should have access to oral contraceptives, which have been shown to decrease a woman’s risk of developing ovarian cancer by 50 percent.

Standard of Care
The Alliance works to ensure that all women receive standard of care treatment for ovarian cancer.

Genetic Discrimination
The Alliance believes all people should be free from discrimination on the basis of their genetic information and supports legislative proposals offering robust nondiscrimination protections on the basis of their genetic predispositions to disease.

Advocate Conversations
In 2012 and 2013, the Alliance brought together researchers, oncologists, regulatory experts (including the FDA), advocates and industry representatives to discuss some of the most pressing issues in ovarian cancer and propose steps the Alliance can take to improve care for women.
