As many of you know, I support the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance and the work they do to support women with ovarian cancer. This September I’ll be participating in a special fundraising event – a virtual walk called Teal Strides Across America – and you can help.

The Alliance wants to raise $22,000 in honor of the 22,000 women who will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year. Can I count on you to make a donation?

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. I hope you will consider a donation in honor of the 22,000 women who will be diagnosed this year.

Invite your friends and family to register as a walker on your Teal Team

Dear friends,
This September, the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance is hosting a virtual walk to benefit women with ovarian cancer, called Teal Strides Across America. The Alliance set a goal to raise $22,000 in honor of the 22,000 women who will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012. We’ve formed a Teal Team to take part in this event, and we hope you will join us!

If our Teal Team raises the most money during September or recruits the largest number of walkers, the Alliance will recognize us on their website and send us a great prize.

By joining our Teal Strides Across America team, you will be able to invite your friends and family to your own personal fundraising page. They can read your personal story and make a donation to support women with ovarian cancer. To join us and set up your online site, just follow these simple steps.

If you already have a fundraising page for Teal Strides Across America, only follow steps 3 and 4 below.

1. Go to: http://ovariancancer.donorpages.com/tealstrides and register as a walker.
2. Design your individual fundraising page.
3. Click on the Team button.
4. Enter the Teal Team information indicated.

Once you’ve joined, the Alliance has Fundraising Tools and weekly email tips to help you meet your goal (and to help our Teal Team win!)

Dear Friends,
Thank you for contributing to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance through Teal Strides Across America. Your donation will go directly to help this fantastic organization and their work on behalf of women with ovarian cancer. In the last year, the Alliance has:

  •  Launched an ovarian cancer symptom diary app women can use to track symptoms of the disease;
  • Educated thousands of future doctors and nurses about ovarian cancer;
  • Hosted conferences in Indianapolis and Washington, DC, that brought together ovarian cancer survivors, caregivers and researchers; and
  • Released a first-of-its-kind report card evaluating all 50 states on the environment they provide to women with ovarian cancer.
