Ovar’coming Together’s three-fold mission is: 1) to create awareness among women and the greater community regarding early warning signs that may be indicative of ovarian cancer, resulting in earlier detection; 2) to provide resources of support, networking and education for those women diagnosed with ovarian cancer and their caregivers; and 3) to support the advancement of research for the early detection and cure of ovarian cancer. Its activities include a Speaker’s Bureau, literature dissemination, an annual Run/Walk in September, continuing education opportunities for physicians, special events such as a survivor luncheon, presence at health fairs, quarterly educational meetings and a quarterly newsletter.

COCO is a 501(c)(3) (pending) organization whose mission is:
•to raise awareness, increase early detection and improve treatment methods of Ovarian Cancer;
•to contribute to the ongoing research for a cure for Ovarian Cancer; and
•to provide women of the Capital City with the information necessary to make good decisions about their health care.
It was founded in memory of Debi Furnish, sister of COCO’s Chair. While looking for a way to honor her memory, Debi was struck by the lack of knowledge most women have about this dreaded disease. Thus, COCO was formed to fight for a cure and to raise awareness.

OAK is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the support and education of Kentucky and South Indiana on ovarian cancer issues. It offers monthly support group meetings, quarterly seminars and newsletters, and it attends health fairs and city fairs to hand out awareness information. OAK presents public education programs to interested women’s groups and the medical community, and works statewide with the state women’s health office and cancer centers. OAK also advocates for ovarian research funding and has an annual “Toast to Life” survivors’ dinner.

The Kaleidoscope of Hope Foundation is a 501(C)3 charitable organization, whose goal is to raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research. We were founded in May 2000 by three ovarian cancer survivors, Gail MacNeil, Lois Myers and Patricia Stewart.
Through our annual fundraising events (walkathons, silent auctions and golf outings), we have raised over $1 million. To date, we have contributed over $850,000 to organizations and institutions involved in ovarian cancer research and disease advocacy.
Creating an early detection test is a primary focus. Currently, we provide financial support to the following ovarian cancer organizations:

GRACE’S (Gynecological Cancer Survivors Reinforcing Awareness, Caring, Education and Support) is a gynecological cancer support group serving Central New York. Support group meetings are open to all women that are living with or affected by a gynecological cancer. We encourage the sharing of information, ideas, emotions, and most importantly, support for one another. In addition, GRACE’S conducts gynecological cancer education and awareness work in the local community through awareness events, lectures, and literature distribution.
