Join Us in a Toast to Progress!

Raise your glass this holiday season and join the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance in a Toast to Progress as we honor the women battling ovarian cancer and remember the courage of those whose lives have been lost to the disease.

This year, generous contributions helped the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance reach the following milestones:

  • Launched The Teal Journal: A Periodical of Progress – the first online quarterly publication to inform the public about the state of ovarian cancer research;
  • Hosted a standing room only Congressional briefing in Washington, DC to educate Congressional staff about Congress’s role in fighting ovarian cancer by supporting funding levels for ovarian cancer programs — the federal government funds 90% of ovarian cancer research conducted in the United States;
  • Expanded the Survivors Teaching Students: Saving Women’s LivesSM program – now educating students in 85 (more than two-thirds) of the medical schools in the United States and 33 nursing and physician assistant schools nationwide;
  • Worked with professional societies to develop evidence-based practice guidance for prompt diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer

But the glass is only half full. Your support will allow us to achieve these goals in 2011.

$5,000 Hold a Congressional Briefing to gather key support for federal ovarian cancer programs

$2,500 Provide Survivors Teaching Students: Saving Women’s LivesSM program presentations for one year in three schools

$1,250 Offer scholarships for three people to attend our 14th Annual Conference in Washington, DC

$750 Ensure access to two key experts for scientific updates in The Teal Journal: A Periodical of Progress

$250 Distribute educational materials, such as symptom cards and the Symptom Diary, to inform 1,000 women and health care professionals

The fuller the glass, the more we can do to save women’s lives. With your donation of any amount, the possibilities grow.

On behalf of the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance Board, Staff and the thousands of women affected by ovarian cancer, we thank you in advance for your contribution.
