Web site Linking:

Content criteria for linking with the Alliance's Web site:

The Alliance will link with all ovarian cancer and gynecologic cancer groups, where the organizations are local or national and will link with all cancer and women's health organizations represented on its national board.

Must present scientifically sound information about ovarian cancer or information that is helpful to people interested in ovarian cancer. Information must be a permanent part of the site.

Must be a national organization/association, federal agency, NCI-designated cancer center, or other national firms or groups that service the cancer and women's health communities.

Should enhance existing, internal links and fill gaps where information is sparse or not addressed.

Commercial sites should offer information free of charge to visitors. The Alliance will not link with sites that promote products unless they contain pertinent cancer information that is not addressed elsewhere on the site and the link will be directly to that pertinent information.

Process for linking with the Alliance's site

Contact the Alliance.

Must inform the Alliance as to any major content changes to the ovarian cancer portion of your site.

Links not intended as endorsement of site by the Alliance. Unless otherwise specifically stated, these links are provided solely as a convenience to visitors of the site and not as an endorsement or representation of any kind by the Alliance of their content or quality.

The Alliance staff will determine if a requesting site meets criteria. If decision remains unclear or the organization is turned down and is seeking reconsideration, the head of communications committee and one other committee member will make the decision. If they are uncertain, the full communications committee will make the decision.

The requesting organization will receive notification of the decision via e-mail in approximately one month after submission. If there are any special timing considerations, please note to expedite the request.

Sites whose applications are denied can reapply when the conditions that led to the initial rejection are corrected.

Placement of link

The link will be placed on the site where its content is most applicable or on the general links page of the site.

Rights of the Alliance

Use of advertisements (banner, etc.) prohibited - preserving the integrity of the Alliance's site.
The Alliance reserves the right to remove a link to a site if the content on the requesting site changes and is no longer in keeping with the Alliance's guidelines.

Disclosure to site users

The Alliance has developed its own terms and conditions governing its Web site and its own policies to protect the privacy of the people that use its site. These policies govern the Alliance's site only and not the sites the Alliance links with or who link to the Alliance.

How the Alliance Collects Personal Information

We do NOT collect any personal information that can be used to identify you without your knowledge. The only personal information we collect is information you provide us for purposes of the Alliance's programs and activities. We also gather and analyze data regarding the use of this Site in an anonymous manner, for example, to evaluate the usefulness of and improve the Site.
