Each Grasstops Advocate agrees to fulfill, at the minimum, the Bronze Level obligations set forth by the Alliance:
Bronze Level: Required
Incentives: An ovarian cancer teal ribbon lapel pin and a feature in our blog where you can share your story
• Completing all training materials in a timely manner once selected
• Attending quarterly webinars on advocacy
• Participating in regular (no more than once a month) conference calls with other Grasstops and Alliance staff to discuss current projects and legislation
Silver Level: Complete any three of the following
Incentive: 100 Teal Bracelets
Gold Level: Complete any six of the following
Incentive: One free Advocacy Day Registration
Platinum Level: Complete all of the following
Incentive: Ovarian Cancer National Alliance Annual Conference Scholarship of $250
• Following up on the Alliance’s Calls-to-Action and sharing those calls within your community
• Maintaining an Action Plan with quarterly goals to be shared with Alliance staff
• Meeting with local elected officials and maintaining a relationship with them throughout the year
• Formulating relationship with US Senators’ and Representative’s staff and maintaining a relationship throughout the year
• Hosting one event in September 2013: National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
• Hosting two or more events in September 2013: National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
• Participating in up to two annual visits to Washington, DC, to meet with elected officials and other health care professionals, (dates to be determined well in advance of the scheduled visit)*
• Recruiting a team of at least five Grassroots volunteers in your community to assist in ovarian cancer advocacy throughout the year
* Grasstops are responsible for all local travel expenses. Pending funding approval, the Alliance will reimburse some travel costs for visits to Washington, DC.
