What We do
We speak up for our sisters on Capitol Hill and beyond. Our advocacy in 2013 helped secure $140 million in federal funding for ovarian cancer research and education.
We shape health care practices and policies, convening experts and surveying our community to identify and address issues that affect women with ovarian cancer. In 2013, our Survivors Teaching Students: Saving Women’s Lives (STS)® program reached 7,644 students in 105 schools with messages about this disease.
We connect survivors with critical information—and with one another. Nearly 300,000 people will get information about ovarian cancer on our website this year. Our Ovarian Cancer National Conference gathers survivors and caregivers from across the nation for four days of support, education and advocacy.
How Our Funds Support Women with Ovarian Cancer
When you donate to the Alliance, you can be sure your money is handled carefully and responsibly. Don’t just take our word for it: Charity Navigator has given the Alliance its top rating for four consecutive years and we have had a five-star rating from Guidestar since 2011.
In 2013, 85 percent of our revenue went to support the programs and services we offer to women and men touched by ovarian cancer.
