Press release: Ovarian Cancer National Alliance Announces Two New Board Members, Board Roster for 2014

Washington, DC—The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance today announced the appointment of two new members of its Board of Directors, as well as the full slate of officers and board members for 2014.

Joining the Board of Directors are Jennifer Bisacre and Joan McEntee. “I am excited to welcome our new board members to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance,” said Chief Executive Officer Calaneet Balas. “They bring us a wealth of expertise in business and health care, as well as personal experience with the devastating effects of ovarian cancer.”

Jennifer Bisacre

Jennifer L. Bisacre, CPA, CFE earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Maryland in College Park.  She is an audit Manager with Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPAs and has been with the firm since graduation. She concentrates her skills in auditing and accounting for tax-exempt organizations.

Ms. Bisacre travels internationally on behalf of her clients, most recently completing trips to Oslo, Paris, Port-au-Prince, Kigali and Juba. Ms. Bisacre is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Greater Washington Society of CPAs and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Joan McEntee is the Chairman and CEO of Middle Kingdom Business Consultants LLC, (MKBC). MKBC concentrates on strategic consulting for a number of multinational firms with business activities in China. MKBC has offices in Washington, DC and Beijing, China, where her company leverages governmental relationships in both countries on behalf of company clients. Joan has visited China over 75 times and serves as an advisor to several Chinese cities and Provinces.

Joan served in a number of senior international trade positions in the U.S. government as well as the White House and U.S. Senate. Subsequently, she was a senior partner in Baker Donelson. She received her BA from Marymount College in New York, her MA in Government and Public Administration from The American University, and her JD from the Washington College of Law at The American University.

Joan was the first woman member of Baker Donelson’s Board of Directors, as well as the first woman Staff Director of the U.S. Senate. She is currently on the Boards of China’s NABI Investment Company, the Forum for International Policy, the Atlantic Council, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the American and District of Columbia Bar Associations.

The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance is a powerful voice for everyone touched by ovarian cancer.
