Why join the Alliance’s Grasstops program? Listen to what past participants have said:
I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to know more about the processes involved in funding and legislation. I wanted to meet others who shared my passion.
I became an advocate because as a 13-year survivor of ovarian cancer, I feel a deep sense of duty to those lost to the disease, as well as the ladies currently battling it.
It has given me confidence to go outside my comfort zone in sharing my story and experience with people in positions of power, as well as putting my efforts to good use for advancing the cause of ovarian cancer awareness.
As a Grasstops, you will learn how to be an effective advocate and have your voice heard. The Alliance will work with you to increase your understanding of the public policy issues important to the ovarian cancer community and current happenings on Capitol Hill. We will call on you to be the boots on the ground and build an army to fight for our cause.
We are looking for 40 committed individuals who will support the mission of the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance by working with their elected officials to increase co sponsorship and appropriations levels of ovarian cancer related legislation. Click here to read more about the program and apply.
