My Aunt Maria, Nina as we called her, was at home talking with us. She told us her belly was big and she looked like she was pregnant. She went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. She went through surgery after surgery and did radiation. She lost all her hair. She had natural, beautiful salt and pepper hair. She had a hole in her belly from where they cut her open. It never healed. On March 11, 2012, the day of her first grandchild’s babyshower, the day before her birthday, she lost her battle to cancer. She went to heaven to be with all the angels. We love and miss her very much, but we know she’s no longer suffering. I am very greatful towards her, because without her, I don’t know where I’d be. She introduced me to her younger sister, who later adopted me. I love and miss you Tia Nina. RIP! ♥ ∞
