I would never think in a million years that I would of been fighting Ovarian Cancer for 6 1/2 years. I was originally diagnosed in March 2006, labelled one of the “lucky ones” to be caught at Stage 1A, Clear Cell. Typically treatment of complete surgery and staging, 6 cycles of chemo, to me I was thrown into a complete medical nightmare, one that I thought I would wake up and continue on with my life, bruised but with this cancer as a distant memory. However, in October 2010, after routine check ups, endless bloodtest, 12-15 PET/CT scans, countless doctor appointments, during a routine PET/CT, this beast decided to return to my life. Completely blindsided, I again endured another massive surgery and another 12 cycles of chemo.
No one has a crystal ball or can tell what the future holds, but I am on this roller coaster called Ovarian Cancer, and hope to win this battle.
