Posted:06/13/12

Today the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance launched a first-of-its-kind report card on ovarian cancer. Ovarian Cancer: A Call for State Action ranks all 50 states and the District of Columbia based on four key categories that affect women with this disease: access to care, education, quality of life and research support.

How does your state compare? Visit our report card website to find out!

Every state has room for improvement when it comes to women with ovarian cancer,” notes Cara Tenenbaum, Vice President for Policy and External Affairs at the Alliance. “The good news is that our research uncovered many examples of programs that work–from laws ensuring coverage of second opinions to local groups providing support services and education around ovarian cancer.” Ovarian Cancer: A Call for State Action includes sample legislation and recommendations for advocates and policymakers around the country.

The Alliance will host a webinar at 2:00 pm EDT today, June 13, to explore the report card and answer questions from our community. Please join us to learn more about this groundbreaking report–and how you can change the environment for women with ovarian cancer in your state.
