Depo-Provera Shown to Reduce Risk of Ovarian Cancer

A large body of data shows that use of oral contraceptives reduces the risk of developing ovarian cancer. A new study of approximate 1400 women in Thailand suggests that the use of injectible contraception (known under the brand name Depo Provera in the United States) also reduces the risk of developing ovarian cancer by 39%; as with the use of oral contraceptives the data suggests that the longer one uses injectible contraceptives the more the risk decreases.
