Patricia A. Davis Newark, NJ

It started on January 17, 2012, with a visit to the doctors office beccause my mom was just not feeling well. One week later we received the news that it was ovarian cancer. The following weeks were followed by test after test, a hysterectomy, blood transfusions and more tests. The doctors finally gave us the devastating news that the cancer had spread to her liver and entire abdominal area. Through all of this she never complained. If she was in pain she never let anyone know. After all of this she wanted to come home and that’s what I did. she passed away two weeks later on March 4, 2012. It happened so fast, it was if we were blindsided. So much more needs to be done about bringing awareness to women and physicians. Maybe with early detection something could have been done to prolong this woman’s, and so many other wonderful women’s, lives. I miss you so much mommy……
