Miriam Sprufero Columbia, MD

My mother was a shining star in life. Beautiful, funny, classy and everything that is good in this world. In 1987, my 54 year old mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She fought like a brave warrior. She lost her battle in February 1989. It devastated our family to lose her so young–she was so full of life. She really didn’t have a chance, against this insidious disease. 22 years later, our hearts are still broken and we miss her dearly.

Mom, I think of you every day and hope you are making everyone laugh. Thank you for being the best, most unselfish mother and brightening the worlds of all who knew you. I love you so. Lori
