Elizabeth Dimas San Antonio, TX

My 10 year old daughter was diagnosed last summer. She has been an inspiration to us all as she battled this. She is amazing and now cancer free!

She started with abdominal pain that slowly progressed over two weeks, and became unbearable. She was taken to the emergency room for suspected appendicitis. They found a cluster of ovarian cysts that later we were told was ovarian cancer. She never cried through it all, she started with asking what her chance for beating this was.

Since the cancer is rare for her age group we obtained three opinions and the decision was no chemo. She asked me once, “when will I lose my hair?”. I smiled and let her know that she wouldn’t be. She was confused, as she had already prepared herself for this.

Her strength is amazing and her spirit is awesome. She is a beautiful person and has written about how she is better and stronger and thankful for having had the cancer.

Her dream is to become a scientist and beat this cancer!!! She is also an advocate for turning our world teal!
