Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer Lead to Diagnosis but may not Improve Survival

A study of almost 1,500 Australian women with ovarian cancer showed that women diagnosed before they experienced symptoms lived longer than women who were diagnosed based on the presence of symptoms. For women with symptoms, the length of time to diagnosis did not appear to affect survival.

Women experiencing symptoms of ovarian cancer should see a medical professional, preferable a gynecologist, for appropriate testing.
