The Senate will consider an amendment to the health reform bill that would require insurance companies to pay for the routine costs associated with participation in clinical trials.
Many people do not enter clinical trials because they are afraid their insurance will not cover the associated costs. This Amendment allows individuals to enroll in clinical trials with the peace of mind that their insurance provider will cover routine costs of care they would otherwise receive if not enrolled in a clinical trial.
This amendment has bipartisan support in the Senate, and support from the cancer community at large.
Please take a moment to ask your Senator to support this amendment so that we can help women with ovarian cancer access cutting edge treatment, and so that we gather more scientific knowledge to fight ovarian cancer.
